Our Lamb

Lamb is a type of red meat from domesticated sheep that are less than a year old. Most lamb is brought to market at around 6 to 8 months of age. Sheep over the age of 1 year are considered mutton, not lamb. Sheep and lamb are known to be organic and free range. They graze purely off the land with no added hormones and provide high quality red meat.

Lamb is a good source of vitamins with daily B12 requirements that most people need. We formulate our own concentrates of food and control our diets of the animals in the feeding facility.

Their food ranges from grain and hay to specially produced pellets that contain all the essential ingredients for optimal growth. We provide organic, free range, halaal meat to all our consumers and the best quality lamb in South Africa.

Meat Classification and Grading

The quality of meat is indicated on the carcass and stamped in letters in a certain colour, depending on the age of the animal, e.g. ABAB. The fat content of the meat is indicated in a square with a number inside and any damage on the carcass is indicated by a 1, 2 or 3. Carcasses will also be stamped with an abattoir identification code.

Lamb Cuts Include:

  1. Half Lamb
  2. Whole Carcass
